It’s such a joy when a client allows me to go out and explore!  I love being creative and choosing new and fun spots to do certain shots.  Thanks to Lenny and Jane, I was able to do just that.  We only have a short time before their daughter is born and it was such fun spending an afternoon with them.  All the best in the coming weeks and I can’t wait to meet the little one!

We’ve been so fortunate to know the Gundersens for over two years now.  Ages ago now, I gave Sofia one of my business cards and I was told that there were a few aborted phone calls when she decided to call me late at night.  Awwww!  What a cutie pie!  Throughout the last year or so, I only got to see the Gundersens infrequently, but Steve had many “man dinners” with Dave and Connor, and loads of long lunches with Dave.  Even though they are moving away for a couple of years, we know they will be returning to their gorgeous home, fun family, and the land they love.  We’ll miss you, Gundersens!  But, for sure, our paths will cross again.

I’ve been photographing Baby James for his entire life.  The first photo shoot was just days after his birth and now, just days before his graduation from the infant room at daycare, we look at his one year photos.  He’s 18 months now, so this post is a bit belated, but we love him nonetheless.  To go from the first days when he was so upset being naked during his photo shoot, to the smiling, happy baby we have now has been a joy to capture.  Cari and Shaun are such great parents and you can see it in James’ grin when he looks at them.  Check out his past shoots here!  Thanks, Miller Family, for the honor of capturing your precious memories!!

How adorable are Melissa and Liberty?  Two gorgeous girls in a house of boys could make for some spoiled ladies, but instead they were just gorgeous and full of laughter.  (How cute is little Liberty with her leg popped up in the family pic??)   I had such a wonderful morning with the girls, the two Thomases, Justice, and Dylan.  I’ve never photographed a family of four kids before and I have to admit I was a bit anxious ahead of time, but the kids were wonderful!  Well behaved, dressed in coordinating colors, and great smiles all made my job easy as pie (even if, as Justice said, “They were dressed to go to a funeral.”  Hilarious!!)  Melissa has attended a couple of my classes and I instantly felt a kinship with her and it was a joy to meet her kids and gorgeous husband.  I wish you the best of luck this summer in all your endeavors, Vintons!

There’s something so wonderful about first birthday cake smashes! Is it the cake? The cute baby? The huge mess? Well, you can’t go wrong with that combination. Owen was adorable and smiling even though he was awfully unsure about making a mess with that cake. After giving it a couple of little pokes to make sure the frosting tasted good, he enjoyed digging in (with a little help from mom, Kelsey). What a fun day it was! With the grandparents still jet lagged from a trans-Atlantic flight, a brand new home barely unpacked, and a gorgeous baby turning one, it was a busy day. I had a great time and I can’t wait to watch Owen grow! (Even if he didn’t share any cake with me!)
