Ooooops!  I did it again!  (And, oops, I didn’t mean to quote Britney Spears either!)  Another year has come and gone and I am currently 15 blog posts behind.  Something happened that caused me to be late.  Maybe it was a family emergency, maybe it was the holidays, or maybe it is just because I tend to procrastinate.  Every year I swear that I will be caught up and every year is the same story: 15 missed blog posts of 2013 and I am behind 6 for 2014.  So, instead, here is my Best of 2013.  These are my favorites from the entire year!  Enjoy!

OMG!  She is so cute!  And look at all that hair!!  Can you believe it?  On a dark, dreary, January morning, we photographed little Elliana.  She was an absolute rockstar… falling asleep and just being gorgeous as we played dress up.  From butterfly wings to a Christmas hat to stark naked, she dealt with us with aplomb.  I’ve known Amy and Townsend for years and I’ve always enjoyed photographing them.  What a gorgeous little girl, you two, she is gorgeous!

Ooooo, yea!  I finally get to do a photo shoot in Piazzola sul Brenta.  I’ve been wanting to shoot there for years and have never convinced anyone to do it.  When I first spoke to Katie, I casually mentioned it as an alternative shooting location and she jumped at the chance.  It turns out that Piazzola is a town that they visit often and truly enjoy.  It’s always exciting for me to photograph people in a location that means something to them.  What a joy!  Noah and Austin behaved perfectly as we played around the villa.  We played with dinosaurs and everyone was thoroughly muddy by the end of the shoot.  What a great sunny day!  For once this year, we have sun!  And it shone on this lovely family all day.

Another gorgeous pregnant couple!  It seems to be that time of year and everyone I meet is full of smiles, joy, and good humor.  I had such a great time with Rachel and Thomas just days before they moved back to North Carolina to await the birth of their little one.  With just a few days left in Italy, they were not stressed as they packed, prepped, and did all the things to get ready for the move.  Instead  they smiled, spent time together and with friends, and enjoyed their last days here.  I’ve known Rachel for years after she took a photography class with me and then invited me for Mexican food afterwards.  After a great night full of laughs, I knew I would always enjoy her company.  It was with such excitement that I heard about her upcoming birth but I was so sad to know that Rachel and Thomas would be leaving us.  Cheers to such a great couple!  And I can’t wait to see the photos of the little one!
