The Pantins {Isola Vicentina}

I’ve been photographing the Pantins (and specifically Owen) since his one year cake smash.  There are many reasons why I love shooting this family including the fact that they always pick wonderful and unusual locations and they always dress perfectly.  I know that I never need to give suggestions to Kelsey since every time I photograph them, they are perfect.  For their first family shoot with me, we went to Marostica.  This year I am back in Isola where I haven’t photographed in years.  The fog and the gorgeous light that day made for perfect shooting conditions.  I couldn’t be more lucky than to work with this lovely family!  And Genevieve is a joyful addition to this perfect family. (Now if only we could get the dogs in the photos!)

Christopher Bowman {7 days}

This might be one of the sweetest families I have met in a long time and such a joy to work with them.  I spoke to Abigail a few weeks before Christopher Bowman was born and I was able to run over to their house to do the shoot right away.  Eleanor was sweet as a candy as she helped out during the shoot.  She didn’t love getting her photo done, but (unlike every child I have ever known) she loved the strobe lights.  While Abigail and Christopher were getting the baby ready, I think I flashed the strobes dozens of times to her joyful laughs.  Christopher Bowman was a bit chilly on the day of the shoot and he preferred to be modestly covered the entire time and in the arms of a parent.  What lovely photos!  Thanks, Rich Family, for letting me in on such a special moment!

The Morris Family {Asiago}

I’ve been hoping to shoot in Asiago for ages!  Seriously, who wouldn’t?  The mountains, the gorgeous air, and a quick stop off to get some cheese before heading home is an added perk.  And to be able to do it while the leaves are turning makes everything more special.  On a cool, crisp, autumn Sunday, I headed up to Asiago to photograph the Morris Family.  Aren’t they just adorable?  Carmeline and Matthew enjoy the lifestyle of the mountain towns and the ice skating rink of Asiago so this village was a perfect choice.  Waylon was so sweet and a bit shy as we did this lovely shoot.  Good luck on your upcoming move, Morris Family!

The Lang Family

Heather and I met when she took a couple of my photography classes and it was great to get to know her socially later on.  When I first met Mimi (see earlier blog post) in Germany, I was surprised to see Heather in the back seat of the van.  A few months later, when Mimi asked me about doing a shoot in Tuscany, the Langs were the perfect family to come with us.  Some of the best words I’ve ever heard were from Heather, “I’ve taken your classes, anytime you want to shoot, we will be ready.”  I expected huge groans when I suggested a sunrise shoot, but Paul (nominee for Best Husband), just said, “Sounds good.”  Seriously, I never get this response.  Ever.

Since I had spoken and emailed at length with both Heather and Mimi about the looks they wanted for their shoots, I had a long list of places we were going to shoot.  I didn’t want them with the same photos of each family in the same locations, so I planned to vary it throughout the day.  Heather was looking for more of an Italian architecture style, so we planned on Cappella della Madonna di Vitaleta in Pienza and the Church of San Biagio in Montepulciano.  Mimi wanted a different look and we planned to shoot in Pienza centro and the Abbey of Sant’Antimo in Montalcino.  We’d also take a couple of shots in a vineyard since we were just days from harvest and the grapes were gorgeous.

I couldn’t have asked for nicer weather or more accommodating people.  Unfortunately, after our early morning shoot on Saturday, Paul was called back home for work.  After the fastest mini shoot ever in the castle near our agriturismo, Paul left with the Aquinos.  Then it was up to us girls (and Steve) to enjoy the rest of the day.  We still photographed at San Biagio and Sant’Antimo, found a gorgeous vineyard at sunset, ate amazing food, and drank a gorgeous Brunello before heading back to the agriturismo where we were staying.  And, everyone will agree, these are just gorgeous images of a lovely family.

Sophia {7 days old}

Stephanie and Daniel contacted me for their maternity shoot and I was thrilled to be able to be there for the newborn Sophia!  What a darling little girl.  We had a fast shoot with Daniel rushing off to pick up little Danny from school so we could do some pics with the two siblings.  Sophia, the gorgeous newborn, smiled and slept her way through most of the shoot.  Stephanie brought a huge pile of props that merged beautifully with the background and my props.  What a fun, pretty shoot with little Sophia!
